This Halloween, it's time to lose the zero and get with the hero. Vanilla
Ice presented so many amazing fashion atrocities to imitate in his movie and
his music videos that it is hard to pick just one to model a costume after.
Patriotic Vanilla Ice fans would do well to re-create his U.S.A. outfit
that saw him wrapped in various incarnations of the old stars and stripes,
trimmed with red, white and blue. Key elements are a puffy white jacket with
stars on the shoulders and red stripes across the middle, matched with blue
parachute pants.

Early 90's motorcycle fashion played a large role in informing Vanilla's
wardrobe choices in his movie ‘Cool as Ice'. This means more puffy clothes:
big jackets and bigger pants. If you have a hard time locating the
graffiti-like patterns found on his apparel, you can always duplicate them
yourself with an airbrush – it doesn't have to look good, it just has to
look busy. Alternatives to his macho film poster outfit include the famous
bike jump scene where he is wearing a Day-Glo orange puffy coat, Lennon
sunglasses, a backwards cap and the most ridiculous tie-dyed pattern pants
you have ever seen.
Whichever look you decide to go for, make sure to include the high-sided
flat-top hair. The key here is to use so much gel that the hair becomes
stiff enough to land a fighter jet on, in order to achieve that
all-important aircraft carrier style. Word to your mother.
And don't forget to work on your V.I. moves . . .
watch the video for Ice Ice Baby.
