Protecting the Earth from the scum of the universe was the stated goal the film's two main protagonists, played by Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones. Apparently, dressing to the nines is an important part of battling aliens, because the Men In Black made sure that they were never without their super slick suits and dark Ray-Ban sunglasses. If you hope to be able to convince people that you are an authentic interstellar agent, you are going to need the following:

Black suit – this includes a jacket, pants, polished shoes and a long black ties. A white shirt is the only light colored piece of clothing you're going to be able to wear.
Black sunglasses – the more futuristic looking the better.
Really big guns. The more outlandish looking the better, really. Super Soakers spray painted silver, or anything you can build yourself out of big cardboard tubes will do nicely.
A fun touch is to locate one of the Neuralizers used by the Men In Black to erase the minds of witnesses. Burger King gave them away as toys in their kids meals around the release of the movie, and you should be able to locate one or two on eBay to add a touch of authenticity to your costume.
