Lara Croft Costume
|
One of the hottest games for the Sony Playstation towards the end of the
1990's was Tomb Raider, and that might have had something to do with the
fact that it let teenage boys control the destiny of an attractive – well,
for a video game – female archaeologist name Lara Croft as she pieced
together ancient mysteries and hunted for treasure. The game was eventually
turned into a lackluster film starring Angelina Jolie, but the most familiar
Lara Croft costume comes from the small screen, not the big one.
It's easy to go to a costume shop and purchase a ready-made Croft outfit,
but where's the fun in that? Here's how to build your own Indiana Jane look:

-
The foundations of the Lara Croft character are a
sleeveless turquoise high-collar shirt and brown shorts. The higher the
shorts, the better, so let your sense of good taste be your guide in
that department.
-
Twin holsters that strap to you upper thighs might be
a bit difficult to pull off yourself – you might need some costume store
assistance here.
-
A brown backpack with thin straps is a lot easier to
locate, as are the brown lace up boots you will need to finish things
off.
-
Lara's hair was always tied back in a ponytail. She
was a brunette, but no one is going to mind a blonde Lara Croft.
Add in the final touch of a set of water pistols, and your Lara Croft
costume is set for Halloween exploration or fighting historical undead
monsters – however you prefer to spend your evening.
